چکیده

Background Myocardial ischaemic burden assessed by myocardial perfusion scintigraphy (MPS) is commonly used to riskstratify patients with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD). Accurate estimation of ischaemic burden by CMR with two-dimensional imaging is limited by incomplete myocardial coverage to a small number (usually three) of non-contiguous sections. The aim of this study was to compare ischaemic burden on 3D myocardial perfusion CMR with technetium-99m-tetrofosmin myocardial perfusion scintigraphy (MPS).

Ischemic burden by 3-dimensional myocardial perfusion cardiovascular magnetic resonance: comparison with myocardial perfusion scintigraphy.

BACKGROUND The extent and severity of ischemia on myocardial perfusion scintigraphy (MPS) is commonly used to risk-stratify patients with coronary artery disease. Estimation of ischemic burden by cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) with conventional 2-dimensional myocardial perfusion methods is limited by incomplete cardiac coverage. More recently developed 3-dimensional (3D) myocardial per...

Whole-heart dynamic three-dimensional magnetic resonance perfusion imaging for the detection of coronary artery disease defined by fractional flow reserve: determination of volumetric myocardial ischaemic burden and coronary lesion location.

AIMS Dynamic three-dimensional-cardiac magnetic resonance (3D-CMR) perfusion proved highly diagnostic for the detection of angiographically defined coronary artery disease (CAD) and has been used to assess the efficacy of coronary stenting procedures. The present study aimed to relate significant coronary lesions as assessed by fractional flow reserve (FFR) to the volume of myocardial hypoenhan...

Effects of depression on myocardial perfusion scintigraphy [Persian]

Introduction: The relationship between depression and coronary artery disease is well established; however assessment of this relationship using functional and semi-quantitative imaging (myocardial perfusion scintigraphy) was lacking. The aim of this study was to assess the relationship between the severity of depression and the severity of myocardial perfusion abno...

Quantification of perfusion defects with high resolution 2D and 3D adenosine stress perfusion 3.0 Tesla CMR

Background Myocardial ischaemic burden is an important marker of outcome in stable ischaemic heart disease with a 10% ischaemic burden suggested as a clinically relevant threshold for revascularisation. Standard CMR stress perfusion imaging utilises 3 short axis slices, each acquired in different phases of the cardiac cycle. Recently proposed 3D myocardial perfusion CMR allows the entire myocar...

Validation of dynamic three-dimensional whole heart magnetic resonance myocardial perfusion imaging at 3.0 Tesla against the duke jeopardy score to assess myocardium at risk

We demonstrate the feasibility of 3D myocardial perfusion CMR at 3 Tesla against invasive measures of myocardium at risk and ischaemic burden (Duke Jeopardy Score) in fifty-three patients for the detection of flowlimiting coronary artery disease and show good agrement between the techniques (Pearson r=0.82). This led to the novel use of this technique as a non-invasive method of detecting ischa...
